ACIM I Need Do Nothing
In the course of your daily life, you will often hear someone say, “acim i need do nothing.” ACIM (A Course in Miracles) acim app teaches that this is an ideal way to practice holiness. Whenever you find yourself caught up in the world of judgment, hungrily racing from one thought to another, simply repeat this idea.
It’s a spiritual practiceACIM i need do nothing is a powerful spiritual practice that can help you to reach higher levels of peace, love and enlightenment. It can also lead you to a greater understanding of nonduality and how to apply this to your everyday life.
This is a simple exercise that involves lying on your back on an ocean, repeating the idea, “I need do nothing.” Keep doing this as often as you can and let it draw your mind to a place of stillness and peace. As you stay in this place, the restlessness of your mind will subside and it will become easier to refocus on your guiding thought.
The idea is to train your mind to see that the body is only a temporary vehicle for living. This will allow you to release the value of the body and focus on other ways to enjoy yourself in this moment, such as through meditative practices or prayer.
Practicing this way will also enable you to see that your choices do not have the power to make you sinful or holy. This will dispel any fears that you have around making wrong choices or being responsible for your actions.
This is a very powerful idea for people who are new to the Course. It can also be a very helpful tool for those who are familiar with the Course and want to deepen their understanding of this concept. In fact, a few years ago I started reading all of the workbook lessons online using a nondual translation to help people to gain a better understanding of this key concept in ACIM. If you are interested in learning more about this, I invite you to join our free ACIM workbook lessons in a nondual translation here.
It’s a way of lifeA Course in Miracles is a book about the human experience that was written by Helen Schucman. The premise is that we all have access to the divine, and that the key to unlocking this truth lies in recognizing our innate capacity for love and light.
ACIM is a book of meditations and practical applications, with one of the most well-known exercises involving lying on your back on a calm ocean and saying “I need do nothing.” This exercise, known as the holy instant, involves the use of a timer that is a little off beat (think the ringing of church bells). To get the best results, you may have to lie there for a while, but it is worth the effort!
The best part of this particular tidbit is that you can do it in the privacy of your own home. The trick is figuring out when to do it – and how to do it. It’s not something you can do all the time, but you can do it more often as a means of self-care. It’s also a good idea to do it with others, so you can feel the support and accountability of having a group.
It’s a way of healingOne of the many things that A Course in Miracles is known for is its emphasis on forgiveness as a cure for the mind. The course states that the belief in separation, sin, guilt and fear are synonymous with sickness and insanity. Therefore, practicing true forgiveness is the only way to heal this illusory mind and become fully enlightened.
ACIM makes no specific world-based healing suggestions when it comes to physical health or sickness, but this does not mean that it is impossible to find healing in the world, or that you should avoid seeking help from outside of the Course. Rather, it suggests that you view all illness and treatment from the perspective of Jesus and the Course: that all of them are essentially illusory and that you should treat them accordingly.
To confirm this, we present the case of a 27-year-old woman with noncommunicating left anterolateral uterine fundus (ACUM) who was diagnosed by hysteroscopy at age 19 for pelvic pain refractory to step 3 analgesics. Coelioscopy was performed at this time and revealed a cystic component within the lesion showing chocolate-coloured content and signal intensity of blood degradation products. The lesion was drained with a direct, 1 cm incision but not excised.
After sclerotherapy, ultrasound assessments one month after the procedure and at each trimester of pregnancy showed that the ACUM had not recurred. It also did not appear on MRI at any time in the 2 years following sclerotherapy. This is a good indication that the patient was healed of her condition and that the disease itself is not what was causing her discomfort in the first place.
It’s a way of beingWhen you practice acim i need do nothing, you are learning to stop living in a physical body. Instead, you are learning to live in a state of mind where you know beyond a doubt that your life has no beginning and no end. In this state of mind, your only responsibility is to accept all that comes to you with grace and love.
You are learning to rest in the peace of God and the truth that you are loved by a great Love that is beyond all measure. Some call this Love the universe, divine presence, or Great Spirit. Whatever name you choose to use, it is the same Love that is the very core of everything that exists.
To practice acim i need do nothing, lie on your back on a calm, peaceful ocean and repeat the idea “I need do nothing.” As you do so, allow the thought to draw your mind to a state of complete stillness. When your thoughts begin to drift to the world of distractions, repeat the idea again and let it draw you back to this place of perfect tranquility. This is a wonderful way to experience the miracle of now, a time of eternal stillness in which there are no distractions, no problems, and no choices.
