    Have fun playing the selection, training, motivation, coaching and evaluation of the management staff; provide or coordinates training and use employees to improve deficiencies; and implement and administer disciplinary and termination procedures.
    Plan, direct and coordinate, through subordinate-level managers, the assigned departments’ work plan; speak to management staff to identify and resolve concerns and problems; assign projects and programmatic parts of responsibility; and review and evaluate work methods and operations.
    Plan for and be involved in meetings by presenting agenda bills at Council meetings, attending Board meetings, playing proposals and attending local Kerrville functions.
    Coordinate assigned departments’ activities with that relating to other departments and outdoors agencies and organizations; provide staff assist with town Manager and City Council; and prepare and offer staff reports as well as other necessary communications.
    Meet and consult with citizens and business interests to manage inquiries and discuss and remedy concerns and problems and discuss City policies and procedures; react to and solve sensitive inquiries and complaints from both internal and external sources; behave as City Manager if required.
    Review and sign all higher-level communication, including ordinances and contracts.
    Attend City Council meetings and take necessary action regarding Council agenda items.
    Provide or coordinate staff support with a variety of boards and commissions; and serve on intergovernmental and citizen committees.
    Attend and be involved in professional group meetings; and remain up-to-date with new trends and innovations from the fields of public administration and public relations.
    Review and analyze reports, legislation, complaints, and related matters; and direct or personally conduct studies, research, and investigations with a wide range of administrative and technical areas.
    Function as Acting City Manager even without the town Manager.
    Perform other related duties as might be assigned.
